Colocation – US style
Ok, so I’ve followed prgmr.com for a while now, I first found them whilst I was trying to find a OpenBSD VPS provider. OpenBSD isn’t able to be virtualized I hear you cry. Well, no and yes. No you can’t on more pants solutions, however you can on Xen if you have full virtualation switched on. Which, unfortunately, Luke doesn’t, as it it’s too much of a performance hit. He did however have the next best thing. NetBSD. The main reason why I wanted OpenBSD was PF. Which is an excellent firewall solution, which I heard, have been ported to NetBSD. I didn’t stay for long tho, this was because I didn’t have the spare cash. Dispite the fact it was $5 per month!! Ah well, one day I’ll return, perhaps when I have more time.
Anyway, enough of my rants about there excellent service, I’ve just finished reading there blog, xenophilia (http://wiki.xen.prgmr.com/xenophilia/). Ooo… I wish I could afford a Dell R200, would love to setup another Dedi again, be nice to have two, one in the UK at Netrino again. Would be fun to get them load balanaced, last thing I was doing on my VPS was pratting about with Lighttpd and GeoIP. Ah well…
