teeth

Looks like Darcy’s started teething

under construction

Mr Kirkby isn’t the only one who has a project with the status of WIP (work in progress).  The freedom bridge in Ipswich, Suffolk still is WIP. Funny, it’s basically done, the bridge part is pretty much completely all the way over the river, the other side however, is miss the piller support. It does feel you with faith however, when it’s done, at least it’ll be rock solid! Having said that, I can’t find the any images of the designs, now I wondering is it suppose to have a piller on both sides? Meh. Long day.

Anyway John took a photo and shove it on his Flickr account, it’s hidden amongst all the American Football in the UK photos (FYI – John appear on there website too – http://www.bafa.org.uk/artman2/publish/np/Lions_Pride_is_Restored.shtml)

dbSend

Just got round to actually test it! Interesting my desktop had MSSQL running as a network service rather then as a Local Service, which prompted an interesting message. dbSend failed on compression as it couldn’t open the file, it should off errored on backing up the database. That reminds me, need to state can’t run from a network path. MSSQL doesn’t do UNC paths.

Also got me thinking does dbSend close the backup thread correctly?

I’m going to have to add a file check before compression begins, as it does it a loop stream, you could have, basically, compressed 90% of it, only for the last 10% to be missing, forcing the compression to abort causing it to abort, wasting all that time compressing most of it.

Other issue was with the cleanup routine. It failed to move the final .zip and then delete the tmp folder.

Wet

Got ruddy wet again, Friday I got soaked on the way home from work. Managed to get always the way up to the docks, just near the rear entrance to the new College\Uni student accommodation before the heavens opened up. At least today it was a little spray :D

Google Apps midnight fun

Last night I noticed an additional bit of info on my Google Apps email.

Google Apps error

Google Apps error

/h/ku.oc.k04ttam/matt – Anyone got any ideas? Funny how the domain is backwards (/h/matt40k.co.uk/matt). Why “H”, surely it’s “A” normally? Typical, Google Apps comes out of Beta and I start getting errors lol!

It’s gone today, so it must be sum sort of bug. How strange tho.

Mirror site

Just been looking at a site who has trouble getting onto the mirror site. Strange, very strange. Seems to be something to do with the VPN, still why is it only a few sites?

Cisco VPN

Stupid Cisco not releasing a 64bit Cisco VPN client!! Grrr… Ended up making a BartPE image with the Cisco VPN client only to find out there is build-in support for VPN with Vista Business. Mixed feelings about this.

SIMS June 2009 release

257 schools installed, 98 to go

164 have installed FMS

where does the day go?

OMG I can’t believe it’s gone passed midnight. So much for going to bed early.

new phone

I’ve given up on the idea of a “good” new “phone”. I use quotes around good, as it depends on your idea of good, and phone as you can’t really call an iphone, just a phone. The darn things got more features then you can shake a stick at!

At the mom the Nokia 1661 looks interest, a whopping £14.50 delivered. Compare that to the £100 different between the Iphone models. I do find it funny how they offer phone insurance on it too.

Premium cover – £14.99 (incl. IPT) – cover for loss, theft, damage and faults outside of manufacturers warranty.

Why would you really want it? It cheaper to get two!!
