stupid neighbours

I though they had moved out, what with furture exiting in the building and the estate agent bring people around, you would of though so too, turns out they were swatting. Damn druggy chavs… at least they’re gone now.

Darcy rocking out…

… in this rocker

Darcy at play

good day… maybe

Just went to change Darcy, mid way through it looked like it might rain, thankfully I was quick enough with a new diaper. Just finished changing him, what happens… you guessed it, he poo’s… around two. At least this time he cracked a smile.

i hate mondays

Just noticed my nice white shirt has patches of blue, funny. didn’t click when I picked it up from the pile of now-blue items… it’s gonna be a long day and I’ve eaten my sandwiches already!

fixed the darn laptop

Ended up using a XP Home cd I had lying around to make a BootPE disc, booted, managed to pull the music to my NAS, also copyed the boot.ini etc to the D: drive, strangly, that fixed it.

arsely laptop

Stupid laptop, missus just got some iTunes (thank you argos – 2x £15 iTunes for £20… nice), and the ruddy laptop has decided to bluescreen rather then boot now. Typical, didn’t get a chance to sync my ipod.

dbSend multi-tab

Been thinking about making dbSend multi-tab, so it’s more of a wizard. We’ll see how it goes…

54863

I’ve add an option on dbSend so that it will pick up the connect.ini from the pulsar.exe shortcut in the all user start menu, I need to re-work the way dbSend pulls all the data together, currently, it’s a complete mess.

I’m still not sure how to do FMS, I’ll have to try the /CONNECT switch later. Not sure how to deal with MSSQL applications, I think I might have to have to force a generic config file then have the user define config, ie what db name (defined via the new pulsar bit). One thing I’ll add is an SQL query to get the school name, I’ll only do this for central hosting, it’ll be a check to confirm the correct school is used, also that the sims db matches the fms db.

The documentation is basically overkill, but it doesn’t appear in the final product, so it’s better then nothing.

I’ve managed to have a look at running dbSend as a service, I think it might be another .exe, not sure yet. This will then have an XML config file to define the time the back runs and all the other bits. Options will be to disk\network\SFTP, I might work on FTPS (FTP over SSL). That’s all for another day…

Toshiba camcorder

I’ve just uploaded a video from my new Toshiba Camileo Pro HD camcorder, it was pretty straight forward using, it comes with Nero as well, which is always nice. Anyway, it’s not brillant, but for a cheap (£100), home camcorder I’m rather impressed.
